Announcements

SYMPATHY: to Dave Roberts and family at the passing of his wife, Nadine Roberts, on Tuesday, June 3. The funeral was held yesterday, here at the Church.

THANK YOU: for all your prayers, visits, food, texts, and get well cards. They all warmed my spirit! Thank you especially to Pastor Holbrook for visiting after my surgery at my home. Bless you! I had a peace that only God could give. It did comfort my spirit to know so many friends were praying for me. God bless you all. In Him, Dawn Eckard (Phil. 1:6)

RED ENVELOPES: are out on the table in the foyer to help the Teens with their mission trip. Your red envelope(s) with your gift may be placed in the offering plate or turned in at the Welcome Desk.

MANDATORY VBS TRAINING: All volunteers and bus workers must attend this training, which will take place on Sunday, June 22, at 5:00 p.m., in Baker. Please contact Pastor Josh Belcher or Jennifer Brown if you have any questions.

VBS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: There are many areas where you can serve or support this ministry. If you can help, please stop by the Welcome Desk to sign up.

DEACONS: Please pick up your packets at the Welcome Desk.

From My Heart

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” This is from Psalm 118:24 and is a great way to approach every day! Another verse which encourages my heart is Psalm 122:1, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” I count it a great privilege to be in the Lord’s House this morning. There are people all over the world who would love to be in a church service like the one you will experience this morning. Oh, how we should never lose sight of the blessings of the Lord.

We welcome William Cordero and his wife Ruth to our services today. Ruth is Eunice Jung’s sister, and she will be accompanying her husband as he sings for us today in our services. Bro. Cordero has been invited by the A.C.E. School of Tomorrow to lead music at their International Student Convention and to act as a judge for their music competitions at this event. I know you will give the Cordero family a warm welcome.

Tonight, after the 6:00 pm service, we will be serving Hoffman’s Ice Cream. We have 12 different flavors, and you are welcome to as much as you would like! We would like to serve the ice cream outside but are prepared to move things inside should the weather not cooperate. I trust you will plan to be here and look forward to a great time of fellowship.

The entire world seems to be on the verge of a cataclysmic explosion! Wars and rumors of war, chaos, a rise in anti-Semitism, violence, weather extremes, and a ton of other issues have seemingly put the entire planet on edge. When the Lord Jesus was with His Disciples on the Mount of Olives just before His arrest, He spoke of many of these things we are seeing today. In Luke 21:11, the Lord Jesus said, “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences, and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.”

These are not signs for the Rapture of the Church, but for Christ’s Return at the end of the 7 years of Tribulation that will follow the Rapture. But we are already seeing these things happening in our world today! That being true, how close must we be to hearing the trumpet sound and rising up to meet the Lord in the air? Scientists are expecting a huge star, Betelgeuse, to become a supernova soon! When this occurs, it will be visible from Earth but will pose no threat to us. It will, however, no doubt scare folks everywhere! We are already seeing things in the heavens that are unexplainable. But unexplained things in the heavens are something the Lord Jesus said will take place!

Let’s purpose in our hearts to have a great day and to allow the Lord to speak to our hearts and draw us close to Him! Don’t forget, “this is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
