THANK YOU: Thank you for the many cards, phone calls, and prayers for my recovery during this time. It has been a trial trying to get myself back into a somewhat normal way of living again. God is my guide and fortress and I will let Him keep me each day to recovery. I am looking forward to getting back to church again (especially without a mask). I pray God to bless each one. From My Heart
Next Sunday we will begin our Spring Revival meeting with Dr. John Hamblin. I sure hope we can kick off with a big crowd and then keep it going throughout the week. Someone once said to Billy Sunday, 'Why do we need revival, it doesn't last very long?” Ever ready with a comeback, Billy said, “Neither does a bath, but you take one every day!” I am praying for the Lord to speak to our hearts and draw us close to Him, and close to one another.
But if you are not here, God cannot speak to your heart. Can I ask you to take next Sunday - Wednesday, (23rd - 26th) and consecrate those four days to the Lord? Just make up your mind to be here for each service and let's see what the Lord will do in our hearts. Ask yourself this question, “What else do you have to do on those 4 days?” Why not have supper, and then come to church? The more folks who come, the more excitement there will be, and the more everyone will enjoy the services.
We will have the nursery available for all the services of the revival. Also, next Sunday, we will begin having a service for the children during the 10:45 service. Pastor Josh has put together a few folks to help us be able to give parents a place to put their children and offer them a service while the parents are in the auditorium. I sure hope this will remove a barrier that may be preventing parents with children from coming back to church.
We are going to have Pastor Sterling Walsh to sing for us each evening. All in all, I think we have all the ingredients for a soul-stirring, Spirit blessed, uplifting, powerful meeting! The only ingredient I cannot regulate is you showing up for each service. So, I am asking each of you to do your part to make this a wonderful four days and plan to be here for every service.
Another thing we can all do is invite some folks to come with us! To help with that part of the meeting, I have designated a theme for each evening. Monday is designated, “Friends and Neighbor's Night.” Tuesday is “Carroll Christian Schools Night.” It would be wonderful if our school staff would give invitations to parents and encourage your class to be here on that night. Wednesday is going to be “Family Focus Night.” I am hoping our families will invite their children and grand-children to come and have families sit together. Let's all do our part to make this be one of the greatest revival meetings we have ever had at our church.
Have a great day!
Pastor Norris
